Some people make a big thing of leaving their footwear outside the house. I almost always take off my shoes too, in my own house as well as that of others. Because footwear carries dirt inside. Period.
So it amazes me that people pass judgement, and virtuously carry prejudices, hatred, meanness, taunts, insults inside after reverently removing shoes outside. That’s the only thing that carries dirt into the home? Seriously???
Very well put!

I never remove my shoes when I come home. I need them for balance due to a Vestibular disorder (inner ear). Thus, I never ask anyone else to remove theirs, but I will take them off at friends, unless they know me very well and tell me not to. Then I’ll wipe them carefully on their doormat.

Those people who judge you should mind there own business. I have no time for people who are nasty like that.

You got that right! I have a friend who refuses to take off his shoes in my home even in bad weather cause “his shoes aren’t dirty” (I bet he’s wearing those new dirt-repellant shoes) He even puts those filthy clodhoppers up on my ottoman or coffee table. His wife is a wonderful friend so I tolerate him but just barely!
